Swarvoski is the world's leading manufacturer of cut crystal. Founded in 1895 in Austria; hence Swarvoski is sometimes referred to as Austrian Crystal.
The sparkle and clarity of these unique crystals have been used in jewelry designs since 1895. The crystals are made from quartz, sand and minerals. Although the exact formula is unknown, we surely can appreciate the Brilliance of these crystals.
Swarvoski comes out with new colors and releases old (Antique) colors on a regular basis, so check in often to see the new and old crystal colors being offered for Designs.
Swarvoski Crystals come in many different finishes - listed below are descriptions of some common finishes you will see in Designs:
- AB (Aurora Borealis)- the outside of the crystal is coated which gives the crystal a rainbow effect when light hits it. Very Stunning !!
- AB2X - Twice the coating for a stronger rainbow effect on the crystal.
- CAL (Comet Argent Light) - Crystal is half color and half silver / example - black/silver
- DORADO - half gold and half color / example - black/gold
- SATIN - A finish within the crystal process that gives the crystal a deeper richer color.
- MATTE - The original color but without the glossy finish
